Earlier this year I went back to where I started with photography. Film. It’s tangible, real, non disposable and at times temperamental. It’s human. Portraits and especially wedding photography seems deserving of it. For me when I pick up a film camera I slow down, I consider my shots in a different way. It seems more intentional. I believe that good photography carries an intention, an opinion and a view point. Shooting film brings me closer to expressing that. This where I started restarted.
The photos that follow are a collection of film shots from earlier this year, with a few personal shot. I’m shooting with a Contax 645 and Zeiss 80mm f/2 lens with Porta 400 film. -Dylan
