Here at John+Louise we don’t usually go ga-ga over details, but ever so often we come across a wedding that makes us stop and say “wow”. Marie and Matt’s Carmel Valley wedding did just that. Despite having a gorgeous setting to begin with, bride Marie spent months planning every hand-made detail to give their wedding that extra special touch that made it feel like it was literally a labor of (and for) love. Not that you need bells and whistles to bring heart to a wedding (because these two brought that in addition in spades) but the shear number of hours and attention to detail WAS kind of, well, unbelievable. And while part of me wanted to think Marie was a little crazy for running around Santa Cruz with clippers snipping succulents to plant for her centerpieces (which she really did do) I admired all the effort and love these two put into their wedding. After all, it was their WEDDING! And how many of those do you get? I won’t answer that…
