A Wedding With A Chance of Sun
Early in the morning I packed up cameras and headed out for Santa Cruz in the rain for my last wedding of 2012. They say rain is good luck on your wedding day but I’m not sure who said that or why. I arrived to the ocean cold and stormy and spent an hour scouting the area and made my way to where Jessica was getting ready. Instantly I knew this would be a special day. She warmed up the room and everyone around her.
And she knew the sun was going to come out. It did and it was gorgeous.
At the very moment they walked down the stair of the cliff, reluctant Grandmothers bundled for warmth, all gathered on the beach and the sun it did come out. A warm breeze washed over the ceremony, waves crashed and faces glowed. You had to be there.
I’ll leave you with the email I wrote Jessica and Jack the day after the wedding.
It was an honor to be in attendance at your wedding. Your wedding was a reminder of how blessed I am to be able to tell such great stories. In the time since your wedding I’ve poured over the images of your wedding and I just want you to know I have some really great stuff here. I also want you to know that it’s wasn’t me who created this stuff. It was you two. I’ve been to a lot of wedding but your’s takes the cake, even though there was no cake but that’s probably one of the many reasons it was so unique. It wan’t trying to be every wedding you’ve ever been to. It was just two people in love celebrating that with close friends and family.
Cheers to you.
