Here are answers to some commonly asked questions…

Why weddings?

We love to tell stories and weddings are full of them! There are so many happy reunions, tearful and heartfelt speeches, words of wisdom and precious moments that remind you of what life is really about. Being able to share in that experience with people makes us feel honored and privileged and we are reminded of that every time we step into someone’s home, church or reception hall. We love being a part of one of the most important days of a copules’ life and being able to provide them with something that will help them remember it forever.

How would you describe your style?

Our style is natural with an editorial and fine art feel. We strive to create photos that look effortless, honest and real. We love the look of film and try to emulate its timeless appeal. We shoot a combination of digital and film at our discretion throughout the day. We want to create images that you can look back on in 30 years that don’t feel dated or trendy.

What is your approach to the day?

We always consult with our couple’s months prior to their wedding to discuss their wedding day schedule. We feel the best way to get great results is to design a well-paced day that integrates the proper time for portrait sessions, getting ready, transportation time, etc. Once that basic structure is in place, the rest of the day is filled with spontaneous, candid documenting. We will rarely ask you to look at the camera and smile and never ask you to put your tie on again. We get everything as it happens naturally.

We love your candid style, but how do you feel about portraits?

We love portraits and we feel that portraits are a very important part of the day. We always strive to capture a large number of beautiful portraits of the bride and groom as well as family and wedding party (if you have one) without taking you away from your event for too long. The average length of a portrait session is 20-30 minutes depending on the number of people involved. We want to get great shots but we’re always aware that you’re there to have fun, celebrate and enjoy your friends and family, not hang out with us!

We also try to create portraits that feel natural and unposed. We ask you to interact with each other in order to get real emotional reactions as opposed to forced smiles. As needed we will step in and provide direction.

How many hours do you shoot?

We’ve found that the average event only requires 8-10 hours of photography to be able to capture absolutely everything. If you think you may need us for longer than that we charge $250 per additional hour added prior to your event and $350 added on the day of your event.

What happens if you Run out of batteries / Card space / Film?

The simple answer is, we don’t! We always carry plenty of all of these items to every event so we are prepared for anything. Also, we are fully insured so if your venue requires that we are prepared.

How many images do we get, and in what format?

We say a minimum of 350 images but in many cases we deliver more than that for a full day event. We provide you with your fully edited images in high and low resolution within 60 days after your event. We always try to get your images to you as soon as possible after your wedding and we normally only take the maximum amount of time if we are swamped during wedding season. We also post your images to our online gallery for at least 9 months for you and your family to order prints.

Can we get an album?

Yes, we think albums are the ideal way to keep and enjoy your photos. We offer a fine art, archival lay-flat option as well as a hardcover coffee table book. Because pricing varies depending on the method of printing, we do not include the cost of printing in our wedding package. Once the book is designed you are welcome to get as many printed as you like at no additional cost to us.

What do we need to do to book you?

Yay! Our favorite question. All we need is a signed contract and a 50% deposit to reserve the day. After that, we will send you our Wedding Questionnaire to get all the pertinent details about your day to begin to build the ideal schedule for photography. If you are to distill down the two things we need it is light and time. Our goal is to capture the most amazing images possible all while you making you feel relaxed and awesome. And that’s that!
