I’m lucky to be alive. I don’t mean that in a way that I fear for my mortality, I mean that in a way that I’m lucky I get to be alive.
Weddings are a celebration of life, of family and of friendships. I feel fortunate to be a part of that. I feel lucky to be present at moments that most friends and family of a wedding are not privy to.
The following photos are not a best of, I couldn’t do that to my photos. I can’t choose single images to tell the whole story.
That is not how I see photography. I see photos in the context of other photos. Single images for me don’t tell the whole story, I want the moments in between. I want the whole story. I want it all.
This year was full of great moments, travels and experiences. Anna and I got to see many new places and make new friends. We grew as photographers, we grew as people. It was also a time a loss and a time of gain. I lost my Dad near the end of last year. In ways it really focused me on the value of photos. Photos of life’s larger moments. Of celebrating life.
Here’s to life. Here’s to more adventure. Here’s to taking chances.
